Casting Tuition

I am qualified to GAIC level for Double handed casting and to APGAI level for Single handed casting, I am available to give lessons on all aspects of  fly fishing for all species in fresh and Saltwater. This covers everything beginners could wish to know about buying an outfit, setting up for the first time, leader construction, what flies to choose for any given circumstance and watercraft.

We start with basic casting techniques such as overhead and roll casts. From there, we move onto techniques for more advanced anglers including single and double hauling, aerial mends, accuracy casting, Jump rolls and Spey Casting.

Lessons can be booked by the hour or half or full day. I do however recommend that beginners book a 2 hour lesson to start, this gives us time to get you up and running and to feel confident in what you are doing, Please contact me for prices and bookings, you can also contact me through the instructors directory compiled by the Fly Fishing Tackle people Fishtec.

Fly Dressing Tuition

fly

I am a  GAIC qualified fly dressing Instructor. I bought tying lessons myself over 17 years ago and I believe this is the best way to learn to tie flies. I strongly believe that a lesson or two will set you off along the right path and saves a lot of frustration and wasted money. I can teach you to tie flies ranging from a simple North Country spider to fully dressed traditional Salmon Flies.

Flies tied to order
I also tie flies to order. All the flies I tie are to an exacting standard and genuine materials are used. The hooks I use are Kamasan\Varivas or other branded well-known makes – I do not use cheap bulk hooks. This covers all manner of flies from something as simple as a North Country Spider, to Saltwater patterns for use in the UK and the more tropical climates, Pike Fishing Flies and Salmon flies.

The materials are all top quality, such as Whiting Hackles, Real Jungle Cock, Cookshill Feathers, Wapsi, Veniard and many more well known brands.

Please feel free to contact me to book a lesson or with any fly dressing queries.
